Kilometre Travel Charge - $1.10 Gst Incl. (per kilometre per vehicle)
Drive Time Charge - $88.00 Gst Incl. (per hour) or $1.47 Gst Incl. (per minute per installer)
 
What are Travel Charges ?
Installco Windowfurnishing Installations charge guide only covers installations within the installation zone of 20KM following a road from the centre of Melbourne GPO building in the CBD and out.
Travel charges are additional charges which need to be added to the installation or hourly rate once a curtain, blind or awning installer has to Travel further than 20km following a road from the CBD(Melbourne GPO Building).  All travel charges are calculated from the Melbourne GPO Building. Travel Charges are calculated as two seperate charges......(i)Travel Kilometre Rate (per vehicle) & (ii) Drive Time Rate(per installer)
-The travel kilometre rate covers the cost of vehicle petrol, wear and tear, depreciation etc.
-Drive time rate covers the extra time the installer is in the vehicle to get to the destination.
The two charges are then added together to give you the total travel charge.
 
Travel Charges can be indicatively calculated as follows;
 
Travel Km rate Charge-
1. Firstly work out the distance of extra travel charged in kilometres- Google Maps can be used to work out the distance from the  Melbourne GPO to the installation address. If the distance for example was 50km to the destination then a travel charge from 20km distance and onwards will be charged and back again. So the extra 30km and back to the 20km zone another 30km would be charged.....Total Kilometres Charged 40km.  
 
2. Secondly multiply the extra kilometres travelled by the travel km rate- The Kilometres that are chargable are then multiplied by the Kilometre Charge Rate of $1.10 gst incl. per kilometre.( as per the example this would total  $44.00 gst incl.)
 
Drive Time Charge-
1. Firstly work out the time of travel in minutes from the 30km zone to the final destination and back again- Again using Google Maps you can calculate the estimated time of travel in minutes.
 
2. Secondly multiply the drive time charge per minute for each installer.
 
3. Add the Travel Km Charge and Total Drive Time Charge
